Having studied metal smithing and jewellery at college, I have been dipping in and
out of the contemporary jewellery trade for more than 20 years - click here for more info. During 2007 I discovered lampworking - the art of
melting coloured rods of glass using a flame to create various objects. I have taken master classes with several lampwork artists from around the world - click here for details - and it has been my fulltime occupation since 2008.
Much of my work demonstrates my love of symmetry and bright colours, I like to layer the glass to give lots of depth to my designs and I'm known within the profession for my precision and use of colour. Although only small, some of my art beads can take in excess of 3 hours to produce and result in completely unique pieces. In April of 2014 I was delighted to be one of the 4 guest artists at the UK Flame Off, the biggest event of its kind in Europe. I have written tutorials for national and international magazines and had work featured in several books.
I regularly attend shows across the UK so please see the events page for the next event.
I teach lampwork and Silversmithing from my East Devon studio, click below to find out more.
